Investigating The Relation Between Social Work Student’s Attitudes Towards LGBTI Individuals and Social Justice Advocates

Abstract


This study is done to identify the attitudes of social work students towards LGBT individuals and to determine their levels of social justice advocacy skills and to analyse the relation between these attitudes. Ankara and Başkent Universities, which are located in Ankara and have official permission for research, constitute third and fourth grade social work students (n = 216). After analysis when the relationship between Homosexuality Attitude Scale score and subscales scores of Social Justice Advocacy Attitudes examined, there is no statistically significant relationship between homosexuality attitude scale scores and collaborative action, strengthening of the applicant, social / political advocacy, applicant / community advocacy, social justice advocacy total scores (p> 0,05 ).
