Abstract

This study is a qualitative research to determine the views of classroom teachers who were the practitioners of Selcuklu Cognitive Training Program (SCTP) on the effects of the program on different skill areas of children. This study was designed by case study from qualitative research methods. The study group of this research was composed of 20 classroom teachers working at the Cahit Zarifoglu Primary School, who were selected by proportionate cluster sampling method from the primary schools. The study group was chosen from the classroom teachers in accordance with the homogeneous sampling method from the criterion sampling methods. In the study, a semi-structured interview form consisting of open-ended questions was used as the data collection tool. The analysis of the answers to the open-ended questions in the interview form was evaluated using “descriptive analysis”. According to the results of the research, classroom teachers think that Selcuklu Cognitive Training Program is a very effective program for children on different skill areas. Classroom teachers state that this program has an impact on communication, emotional and speech skills, especially on the cognitive and social skills of children.
